The City Academy aims to improve the skills of local people through a wide range of training opportunities. One of the EU-funded projects run at the academy is the “Full House Project.”
The city partnership between Bristol and Hannover started more than 60 years ago as a mean to create and reinforce links between divided communities. The project has been nominated together with other projects from Bristol for the prestigious European Regional Champion Awards in the intercultural dialogue section.
On 24 October 2008, Bristol City Council Leader, Helen Holland and South West MEP, Graham Watson joined fifteen students from The City Academy, as they welcomed students from Hannover and Poznan to Bristol. The German and Polish students were visiting the UK as part of a film exchange called Full House that seeks to overcome prejudice relating to economic migration.
